Newbie Question, Got a click but earnings show $0.00

New to adsense, please help me understand.

Hi all and thanks in advance for any input. I put adsense on my site yesterday and got 1 click according to adsense but my earnings show 0.00. Dont you get paid for each click? Is there a certain amount per click you are supposed to get? Is it possible that certain keywords pay 0 money? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed for me.

it might be that adsense only updated the click count and not the $ amount

or it might of been a public service announcement

I dont think theres a minimum amount for a click. i know I've heard of $0.02 clicks.

As far as I know, PSA clicks don't get counted.

My guess would be that it was an invalid click.

why would a click be invalid? It was clicked wasnt it?

If you clicked it, it could be invalid.

if there was a valid click, you would see an amount for it. Wait for the day to be over for exact and correct stats.

Multiple clicks from the same IP within a short amount of time can be invalid ones also.

The smallest CPC I've seen on my site was 0.01 $. One click , one cent.

I also noticed sometimes clicks are not paid for, but that was right when the site was started so there were very few visitors.
