After reading this forum it is blatantly obvious that there could easily be an FAQ to put a halt to a lot of questions on here. I admit that many of my answers below are from an advertiser stand point but I also make about 25% of what I spend on Adwords back from Adsense.

My CTR has dropped a bunch over the past one/two/thee hours/days. Is anybody else seeing this?

Yes, but they are seeing small statistical fluctuations just like you are. With a program as large as Adsense that shows ads as targeted as they are for specific sites, there are always going to be fluctuations. If every person who posted that something was up with Adsense just because of a daily fluctuation in their stats is correct, Adsense had dropped their CTR and payouts dozens of times in the past two months.

4eyes has posted a list of more reasons for fluctutations HERE [webmasterworld.com].

Has Google changed the revenue sharing? My revenue/CPC has dropped dramatically over the past one/two/thee hours/days.

See the above answer. Iíve noticed that when one Ďbig fishí ups their advertising budget you can see a big fluctuation in CPCs.

I want to make the ads show up in a new window so the visitors donít leave my site. How can I do this?

You canít. If you want somebody to pay you for that type of advertising, please find another source. Adsense advertisers are paying for clicks to their site. If you accept their money by participating in the program you are accepting the fact that you are sending your visitors to their site. That is what they are paying you for.

How can I induce clicks? Can I put something like ďPlease support our sponsorsĒ above/below the Adsense ads?

No, itís is against the Adsense TOS. Numerous users have asked Google this exact question and judging from the response, itís not something that is up for interpretation in any way, shape, or form. Do not induce clicks on your Adsense ads.

If you are looking for somebody to sponsor your site, please do so elsewhere. Adsense advertisers arenít sponsoring your site, they are paying for targeted visitors to their site. If you want your users to help sponsor your site, place a donation button on your site and have them pay you, not advertisers who are paying $1.00/click for visitors interested in widgets.

When will my check arrive?

Iím not sure which day of the week your check is going to arrive but itís about one to two months earlier than any other advertising network I have ever seen.

Is there going to be a competitor to Adsense any time soon?

It has been reported by numerous sources that Overture is planning to roll out a similar product later this fall.

Thatís just my two cents, Iím sure there are others here who could provide answers to other issues that are continually rehashed on this forum.

Another very frequent topic - and this thread pretty much handles it:

What to do when you're kicked out of Adsense [webmasterworld.com]
