Hi,

I wonder whether webmaster in latinamerica (Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Argentina), but specially in Mexico have already received february checks?
Usually stuff from ebay takes one week and a half to arrive and the check, supposedly released on March 25th is taking too long.

We are in Venezuela and have been waiting for snail mail to deliver our pin code since mid-March.

As of today it hasn't shown up.

What's really annoying is that I have a mail drop in Miami that forwards my mail by courier to a P/U depot here on my Island. Very frustrating that I can't use it or have a direct deposit to my Miami bank account because of the tax problem.

P.S. After 2― years I finally made my 1000th post.

Fryman :

I saw your post in the other thread. I think somehow this month is bit more late for an unknown reason.
I would not request them another check immediatly, because that way they cancel the older and if you receive it you could not cash it.
Now, that I see the timings, I think has been just two weeks since the delivery.
I'll wait this week too.

Tropical :

I also have an account in the US, in Texas. I asked them to ETF to that account and also they replied something about taxes.
I don't understand : with or without ETF, or paying with checks you choose to pay or cheat your local IRS.
That's something Google has nothing to do with.

What I was planning on doing was once the pin code arrived, and I could prove that I was who I said I was, I was going to e-mail them and request direct deposit.

I don't know if they can adjust the system (probably not) however I was going to take a shot at it.

It's now been almost 4 weeks and the pin code mail has not arrived.

It's really a pain because if it even looked remotely like a cheque it would have been stolen by now.

It's not a very nice comment about our postal system however the last parcel we received had the wrappers of the chocolates that someone had sent us and nothing else. I guess it was nice they left the wrappers so we could see what we didn't receive.

AdSense has advised us they would send any cheques by special delivery however if they use the same postal system we are in big trouble.

fischermx, this is just ridiculous. The check is being sent by "express secured delivery". Now, for what I understand, "express" means that it should arrive in a few days, and "secured" means that there must be some way of tracking the check.

It has been well over 2 weeks now, no check, and no one from Adsense has any idea of where the check can be.

Fedex used to bring me the checks in 3 days.

You mean your previous check from google used to take 3 days?
I have to say this is my first check so I have no idea about how it was "before".
I've read about google used express delivery for checks over certain amount, like $10,000, may be this is your case, otherwise, I cannot think of google using a service that cost like $30.00, to send me a $100.00 check.
Is this your case?

I received my Feb check in Argentina last week. It took more than it used to (Fedex would deliver it in 7 days ). It was a plain envelope with a return address in BUFFALLO NY, US.

It was a secure delivery because I had to sign to get the envelope (they wonīt drop it under the door). It was a guy from OCA S.A. with violet uniform. I really donīt care to wait more for the checks, as soon as they arrive safely is enough good for me.

Publishers in Latin America are not charged for the secured delivery, thatīs a good thing. I understand also that 30 U$S per check for Google was high, compared to the rates they would pay to send the checks to other countries, and considering a lot of checks ammounts are fairly over 100. They could give you the choice to pay the 30 USD and get the check via Fedex.

According to Google FAQS for international publishers you have to wait 40 days after the delivery of the check to ask them to reissue it.

My PIN number finally arrived today:-)

I'm still going to see if they can direct deposit to our Miami bank where the check will be sent to eventually anyway.

I have my fingers crossed.

What do you mean by your "PIN" number?
It sounds like the ATM card password .....

What do you mean by your "PIN" number?

When you first open an AdSense account Google mails you a "PIN" number when your account reaches $50 to the address you have registered to assure themselves that you are who you say you are. They won't send out your cheque until you enter this number in your account.

Mine was mailed in mid-March and arrived today almost 5 weeks later.

OOps, I reached the $50.00 since January, however, I have not received that pin number either.

Actually, I can't find any place in my account to enter such number. Is that for all countries?
Could I have this waived because I'm also an adwords advertiser?

We are also AdWords advertisers so I don't think that is a reason.

Right from the get-go when we registered in early March we were advised about the PIN number.

Maybe it doesn't apply to all countries.

That's strange because really I dont find the link to such PIN number anyway, just the mention in the help.

Also, my account already shows the "payment" and it say the check was express delivered ...

I received an explanation today. They introduced the PIN verification recently. I signed off way long before this.

Now, what seems more strange, there's really no one else from Mexico!? :)

One week later, luck anyone?

I asked to Google support about sending me the airbill number to track it locally, but they didn't respond.

Finally arrived! :)

It was by "Estafeta", btw, the mexican courier. I never heard of "Ocasa" here, I think they have no presence.
It seems they just passed the delivery to Estafeta. The airbill was dated as received yesterday for Estafeta, so they took just one day to send it to my door, while Ocasa took 5 weeks to give it to them.
End of this history for me :)
I hope the guys in Tijuana and Queretaro will receive it soon.

hello, fischermx i am the tijuana guy and today i recived the check from "ocasa-estafeta".
Of course i had alredy canceled.
google is in mountain view california 6 hours from tijuana but i rather go and pick up my check in there rather than wait a whole month just to it to arrive.
greeting from Lauro Soto.

Oh, boy, you need more faith :)
I was also tempted to cancel, but I was told I had until the middle of next month to do it and have the amount included in april's check.
I think there were some logistics problems with this delivery for being the first time, very mexican style, not surprising me at all.
I hope the next arrive sooner!

Well. I am totally screwed. I asked them to cancel my check and issue another one, but I also put a hold on future payments until they fixed their mess. I got my cancelled check today, so now I need to wait for the next payment date... if I'm lucky I will be getting my next check by mid June
