UK & Citibank

Yes, but you have to have at least 2,000 deposited with them to cash US dollar cheques for free & just to open an account with them you need an annual salary of at least 30,000.

US cheques deposited in Irish banks take a minimum of 20 working days (or an average of 28 days in total), often more, to clear. This seriously makes me crazy. I have checked with those who send me cheques from US and the money is cleared from their accounts between 5 and 7 days (days, not working days) after it is lodged. Then it apparanly sits in the banks account for a further 3-5 weeks.

All the banks seem to be the same. Amazing coincidence that.
