Real Estate Finance comes to mind...

Last thing we want is to loose our business to another big company, right?

I'm basically asking if this is a good idea and who is doing it with good results in their primary business. Not concerned about how much you may or may not be making with Adsense.

Is it safe to say that if a visitor clicks on your competitions links you win too?

Is there a good thread full of solid information on how it all works?

Thanks,

I have AdSense on a couple of sales sites. I put the ads at the bottom of every page below the sales copy. I figure if they read through several calls for action without buying I might as well still make money on the traffic. Sales are very good and the AdSense hasn't made even a small dent in them. The truly interested visitors hit the buy button before they ever see the ads.

Some webmasters think it looks unprofessional to have third party ads on a sales page, and maybe they're right. I'll take the money.

I agree, this is a good thing if positioned on the page in a strategic way

Here is what drives me NUTS - adsense on a merchant page with an affiliate program:

Why am I driving traffic to you that you don't believe will convert (since you have adsense on it for your own profit)!

I was thinking of maybe targeting a specific page or pages.

I'm trying to center my site off a good glossary of terms based on my area of expertise. It'll be 26pages for every letter of the alphabet.

You think it may be a good idea to do adsense on those pages?

Heck, I run a hotel website from where I work and I put Adsense on it too.

If they dont book at our hotel, I get a few sheckles from the Adsense. Usually the Ads are from the high-dollar hotels in town.
