0 CPM 0 Earnings

Hello Everybody,

First of all I would like to thank all the people giving prompt replies and for being so helpful. But I have a problem again :). Even though there are Impressions and clicks today in my account, It shows that my earnings are 0. How is this possible? Has my account been cancelled?

Most likely that's just because not all the info on the Adsense reporting page updates at the same time. There can apparently be a considerable difference in update times, meaning hours. That's why you will see the various numbers jump around wildly during a given day.

The stats are pretty worthless until the day has ended and all the numbers have been balanced.

Also, if someone clicks on a PSA (Public Service Ad) it will show up as an impression and click, but no earnings.

Are you sure? Last time I checked PSA they were linking directly to the site in question so Google can't monitor them.

I think it's just a small updating problem.

I could be wrong, but that's the way I've understood it works.

Thank you very much for the prompt replies... I don't have psa's showing (as far as I know from the preview) so i think it might be an update problem too... Thanx again...

PSAs show up as impressions, but not as clicks. They are tracked by Google though - they used to be straight links, but now they are the Google style hoplinks.

As for $0 earnings, it is either due to fraudulent clicks being automatically discounted, or that your stats haven't finished updating yet (different sections of the stats update at different times - this is also why you will sometimes see an increased CTR or CPM earlier in the day that will level out to normal levels at the end of the day). Google does say to wait at least 24 hours before considering the stats completely updated, but I usually find they are mostly updated by about 1AM PST for the previous day's totals.

I don't have psa's showing

You might not have PSAs showing, but others may see them (ie. from different geo-targeted IPs that there might not be ad inventory available for). If all the advertisers on your page are targeting US only, I could surf in from my Canadian IP and see PSAs only, since none of the advertisers have opted to show their ads to non-USA traffic.

Hehe. They used to count as clicks quite some time ago, so that may be what you are remembering :)
