I have noticed much higher CTR during daytime 8-5 eastern time than other hours. Wondering if others had similar experience.

Wondering for instance if more experienced web surfers are online in the hours other than 8-5 and if this might bring down the CTR?

Thanks

I guess that's what many americans do at work. They browse internet and not in a hurry there is always plenty of time to waste untill 5pm. Au contrare, when at home time is tight so they check what they want quickly and do not bother with ads.

I've always found it interesting that Monday is usually my busiest and most profitable day of the week. I have a travel-planning site, and I guess the jolt of going back to the office or school on Monday makes a lot of people think about taking a vacation!

Hi,

Definitely for me, Monday and Tuesday US working hours are peak traffic and peak spending/clicking even though only about half my total visitors are from the US (the other half being mainly from Europe).

In the olden days, eg circa 10 years ago (not long after I had to write and ask the NSF for permission to send "commercial" packets across the Internet "backbone" in the US!) the peak for traffic tended to be about a day later in the week, so not much different.

In other words the Internet is still a relatively stable and US-centric beast for now.

Advertisers also change their campaign prices to reflect time of day as well, which can also attribute to the difference - specific ads can also affect a publisher's CTR.

My earnings per click slowly decrease as the day goes by. Maybe the expensive ads get used up first.
