link ressource web site with adsense, will it get banned?

I am setting up a bunch of web pages about a category of very similar widgets. The web pages have content, but provide mostly links to more detailed ressources on other web sites than mine.

Can this be interpreted as being againts the TOS; can G say that I am setting up pages only with the intent of putting adsense ads there? or is that a legit form of content.

I think it's how you do it that will hurt you or not. I have a site that is similiar to what you described. Although I didn't build it for AS I decided to place AS on it anyway. It wasn't getting a whole lot of hits to begin with, but when I added AS all of my G hits stopped. ALL!

My deduction, even if you are not a cheater, looking like one can break the relationship as well.

There's another way to look at this: the visitors are looking for something, so they are likely to find it on the ads as well as or instead of the links, especially if the ads are well-placed.

My best-performing (by CTR, CPM) site with Adsense is a specialist links directory. My worst-performing is a very sticky (close to addictive) site that has minimal outgoing links other than Adsense.

My site is specifically a links directory for a certain area of interest. And like Hugene, there are pages of similar widgets, comparison shopping etc. AdSense came a long and I decided to try it. Positioning the ads alongside the the links on the site. Its added to the relevence of the site pages and given the income earned, I'm not complaining at all. The CT's for the AdSense is only a small proportion of the CT's for the site itself but it is generating revenue. And that's better than no revenue at all.

I haven't found that to be the case at all. In fact, I haven't found the number of outgoing links on a page to have any affect on the performance of Adsense.

I have recently discovered this epidemic of so-called "adsense" on both my geocities and angelfire sites as well as others. I wish we had more control over the content of these ads or they were used with more common sense. I, along with some others, have created webpages and associations devoted to a certain card game popular in French speaking regions known as "Tarot", which has more in common with Bridge, Spades, and Sheepshead, than it does with astrology or metaphysics and we keep getting these ads devoted to psychics, astrology, and the occult. Such ads lead the uninitiated to some false conclusions regarding our intentions with these pages and veteran players of this game have taken offense that their pasttime has been stolen and misrepresented to the rest of the world as having some "occultic" signifigance. All this one page of mine did was to translate the rules of this card game into English and I get all this "metaphysical" garbage simply because I use the word "tarot"

Then you should look at filtering the domains of the ads you do not want to appear in the adsense boxes.
