Don't know if anyone noticed it, but if you check the payment history page, there are two new additions: check number and check date.

Well, I've followed Google's instructions and checked the number, and checked the date, but I'm still waiting for my cheque to arrive...

still waiting for my cheque to arrive...

Looks like they write about 22,000 checks per month?

For what its worth:

from: [webmasterworld.com...]
Revenue generated on Google’s partner sites, through AdSense programs, contributed $384.3 million

Roughly 22.000 publishers

average = 17.469 $/publisher

guess i am well below average ;-)

average = 17.469 $/publisher
per quarter... $5,822 per month (almost the national average income) - still below that? ;)

I thought the $384 million amount was for one year?

That would mean $384 million/22,000 = $17,469 average for a year. Some $1,455.00 per month... almost chumpchange.

and then there are all those people that do not make it to $100/month, which may account for another 10-20% (?) of those 384m which should bring the average check down to between $4,000 and $5,000 - still below the average?

(and they are definitely talking about quarter - read their financials at [investor.google.com...]

I have noticed a very interesting change in the "Payment history" part on the Adsense publisher section.

Where it says payment approved you can now see the cheque number (some number used by Google, ie 24903) and the cheque date.

Whats majorly interesting is that this month the cheque date is the 21st for October and 22nd of September (close last months postal date). So the cheque date is closly related to the postal date (from what I have gathered) so we are now given more information which is realy great :D.

>>Revenue generated on Google’s partner sites, through AdSense programs, contributed $384.3 million

That includes Adsense for search (with AOL, and tons of other biggies) and Adsense for content (with third-party publishers) and DomainPark.

As far as I can tell from my cheque-number, we should rather be looking for a 6-digit-figure - which brings the average amount of a cheque down to a more or less realistic figure considering those who are having a hard time reaching the $100.

Perhaps I am reading this very wrong, but here is my take.
Revenue generated on Google’s partner sites, through AdSense programs, contributed $384.3 million, or 48 percent of total revenue
-Google Financial Statement

Revenue: All the income produced by a particular source.
-3rd definition for Revenue from dictionary.com

The way I read that is that google grossed 384 million from adsense, before they made payments to all of us at a percentage that no one really knows. Lets just mess around and assume 50% for argument sake. So we will say that google paid out 192 million over 3 months, or 64 million a month. We have all seen the number of checks written is roughly 22,000. 64 million/22,000 publishers = $2909 per month per avg publisher, which to me still seems high.
Thoughts?

Maybe I just missed this earlier, but when I check the payments screen tonight I now get Google's check number and the date on the check. Neat!

$2909 per month per avg publisher

My guess would be that you're not too far off with that - the mean is being skewed way high by one or more million dollar cheques to AOL and the like.

The median will be a bit lower than that.

G pays out about 80% of what they collect to the adSense partner per the 10Q.

...which is currently about $100 million per month.
