I fear this may be too simple.

However, please help!

I just signed up for AdSense. How does one get the code to paste into their webpage with ads on it?

You just copy the code from your adsense login and paste it where you would like the ads to appear on your page, upload the page to your server and then view in a web browser.
(drag your mouse over the code and right click and copy, right click and paste into your page)

You may see public service ads until mediabot has spidered the page and then you will get ads which match your page content.

Adni, here is a bit more specific answer:

1. Login to Adsense.
2. Click on Ad Settings.
3. Choose ad layout, type, colors.
4. Copy the adsense code.
5. Paste the adsense code on your html page.

You may want to create channels for your different pages, click learn more on channels option to know how to implement this.

I think he/she "just signed up" for it. I don't think he/she has been accepted yet. Right? If so, then you can't get the codes because you don't have access to them. You only have access to the codes when you're accepted. Or maybe I'm wrong?

Well, I have already filled out all the forms and everything, and when I log in, all I see are three tabs: Reports, Search Settings, and Account information. When I go to [google.com...] , I get the following:

Copy and paste the code below into the body of your HTML pages. Use the selections to specify custom colors, ad layouts, alternate ad URLs or colors, and reporting channels.

View examples of all ad layouts here. You can also read tips or email us if you have any questions about running Google ads on your site.

"and when I log in, all I see are three tabs: Reports, Search Settings, and Account information."

There should one more tab for Ad Settings.

It still doesn't sound as if she's been accepted to me. Did Google TELL you via email that you've been accepted?

Not if they only applied for Adsense for search, right?

I am a "he" and I hope I have subscribed for advertising, and how do I know if I have been accepted?

If you can login I'm sure you've been accepted.

They would email you after a few days and tell you that you have been accepted. I think that's how it works. It's been a while since I was accepted, so I don't really remember all the details, but this seems to be how everyone does it, so it's probably also how Google does it. So you were NEVER told you were accepted? That's probably why you don't have access to the html codes yet. It takes a while for them to review your site.
