Why do we have sudden very low revenue days?

Very low adsense revenue on some days with no obvious reasons

Anyone else notice some recent days have extremely low adsense revenue for unknown reasons? It does not seem to be related to my Impressions or Clicks to much degree (which still look good), though a bit lower in this case, but not the main cause of it percentage wise.

For example, this Monday was the lowest (non-holiday) Monday income day for my websites since last October!

Recently I have noticed very low revenue days often happening on Fri Sat and Sun but never Mon thru Thurs., especially Monday which is normally the best day of the week for me.

Does anyone here know or can guess why this happens?

Not sure if anything other than standard statistical variation explains things.

Monday wasn't stellar for us, but Tuesday was in the toilet. Another data point ...

Maybe it's the Olympics. Friday through Monday was low for me too, but with the Olympics going on, I wasn't surprised.

This question comes up a lot, but please remember that there are lots of people who's revenue is growing each month, and have been able to have growth consistently.

The money may be going to somebody else. Somebody else may be having a great day. They may be spreading the wealth. i had my best day ever on Monday.

Actually, I ammend that last post. It wasn't Monday that was my "best day ever" (though it was a good day), it was yesterday, Wednesday. Don't know why I wrote Monday. Guess my mind was just reeling from the notion of all that money. ;)

I have had the most amazing last 6-8 weeks....so good I was holding my breath for fear of upsetting it.

Then my EPC today is 25% of that two month average. I presume my niche has lost a big advertiser or two and will just have to see if things pick up.

What other theories do you guys have about sudden losses in EPC? I think it is mainly individual advertisers dropping out....

My EPC this week is about 100% more than it's been since April. And that's on more than one site and more than one Adsense account.

My traffic has also dropped since the Olympics began last week. I guess alot of people are glued to their t.v sets. Have to wait and see if traffic picks up next week.

Perhaps Google lowered the earnings split for the webmasters and increased their own part?!

<sigh> These conspiracy theories never stop.

And you think they've singled you out for punishment? You, and one or two others? Or did you not notice that the revenue drop is not something everybody is experiencing?

Some threads go on for hundreds of messages and one may miss a comment or two in those threads. But, for crying out loud, this is message # 13. Surely this thread was not too taxing to go through in it's entirety?

I was wondering about this, too.

1. People are going back to school, registering, getting oriented, etc. Less time to spend online.

2. People on vacation are going back to work and are tackling work that's been stacking up so have less free time for shopping/browsing.

3. Tax-free weekends in some states; people saving money in malls instead of online.

I have my own list :)

1. Google IPO

2. Elections in Timbuktu

3. Larry Page woke up in a bad mood

4. Floods on UK west coast

5. The Adsense goblin has moved over to the ether and has been found to be eating clicks on some sites. This is a problem Google is aware of so there is no need to report it. They are working to resolve it as soon as possible and to restore him to his hole in the plex. (They are redecorating that hole as we speak)
