I don´t understand this rule... Can anyone help me to interpretate this?
I mean, they say that we can use more then 1 Ad, but then they say that no ad should have the same advertisement...
If you use for example, a 468x60 format and also a 784X90, you are probably gonna get some Ads in common...
Is this against the rules? or they mean that you cannot have a Specific Ad (not adsense) in comon with an Adsense with the same advertiser?
I´m really confused... ;-)
I´m using a few different formats of Adsense ads, and sometimes they have some advertizers in common....
I´d like to read some opinions on this...
And after the image ads were released, AdSenseAdvisor said that it was still against the terms, even if image ads were enabled.
have seen a lot of sites lately with 2 ad units per page . if it is not allowed why do they do it?
I can think of a couple of reasons.
1. They're premium partners and not subject to same restrictions as standard publishers.
2. They read the T&C and thought they could now have multiple ad units per page, don't read this forum and haven't read AdSenseAdvisor's clarification. For whatever reason, anecdotal evidence suggests that if it goes unreported Google either doesn't detect it or do anything about it or the handful of sites I'm aware of showing 2-3 ad units per page for more than a month have been booted, but are still chosing to display AdSense ads even though they're no longer getting paid for clicks.
I also want to put 2 ad units but i would not do it while i am not sure it is ok with G.
Why not contact them for clarification, then report back here to let us know what they told you?
but are still chosing to display AdSense ads even though they're no longer getting paid for clicks.
That's something Google would NEVER do.
You could be right. I don't have first-hand experience and hope I never do, but there have been a number of posts to this forum suggesting Google does serve AdWords advertisements in ad units belonging to publishers who've been booted. I couldn't care less whether it does or doesn't happen, but I wanted to clarify why I mentioned that in my post.
What is unclear about that? Only one per page! How is anyone confused by that?
I suspect some are putting more than one because they haven't read the rules or think they will get away with it. I heard about a site that had skyscrapers on the right and left side and banners top and bottom.
The Google FAQ [google.com] clarifies the fact that multiple ad units are *currently* not permitted on a page in the section I'm quoting below.
3. Can I display more than one set of Google ads on a web page?
Only one ad unit may be placed on any web page, regardless of its layout, color, or ad type selection. Our Terms and Conditions state that multiple ad units may be displayed on each Web site page, but no ad unit can contain any advertisement in common with any other ad unit. Currently, there is no mechanism in place to ensure that duplicate advertisements will not be served to a second ad unit – consequently, only one ad unit may be placed on any web page at this time.
But in the Google Terms and Conditions [google.com] (which people are repeatedly asking about in this forum) it states:
You agree that while You may display more than one (1) Ad Unit on each Site Web page, no Ad Unit shall contain any advertisement in common with any other Ad Unit.
That is the vague, misleading section that is repeatedly causing confusion.
