Here is a discussion on some possible reasons why AdSense is slow at updating the stats. [webmasterworld.com]
In regards to the "why have this thread"...
For me, I have seen drastic changes in Adsense revenue after some google updates (FLORIDA). It is very important to me to have these types of threads. As long as I know that I am not alone, I do not have to freak out and spend hours checking my sites to make sure they are still listed.
There is definite value in these "delay" threads.
Someone wrote that it would be best if Google had a "updated at" message next the stats. That would be a great idea!
All day, until about 1 AM, I had only about 3% of Monday reporting. At 1 AM it switched to 50%. At about 4 AM it switched to 95%. That's a total of 3 updates in more than 24 hours (I've been checking all day).
And now, at 7:30 AM, It's still sitting at 95%, with no reporting yet for the 4.5 hours of Tuesday that's gone by.
Google, I think it's time to finally throw out those 386s you're using! :-)

I don't know if you meant that in jest ;) ..... but I wouldn't be surprised if they do have 386s. They aren't running Windows... and Google are probably the world's foremost authority on running a distributed system of thousands of low-end machines complete with a lot of redundancy. If a PC goes down they can throw it away and another one takes it's place. Resistance is futile....:)
In the last few days the reporting delays have been 24 hrs or more.
This is crazy, Adsense has far less users than Adwords and they update every three hours.
I use Adsense and adwords together, its very hard to adjust campagians when I don't have yesterdays figures.
Even if they only give an indictative amount allowing for adjustments, that would be better.
To say people are waiting for an alternative, overture, quigo, microsoft is an understatment.
I have not seen a market worth billions with only one supplier :)
