You would think it would be done during a workday, at least at a resonable hour in the US. It is 1am in California right now?
Lets hope they actually send the checks as well as SAY they have been issued in a resonable timeframe this go around.
Cheers
A lot of companies contract out payroll processing to specialized companies, which works on the same principle. Or it could mean some kind of inter-departmental transfer within the company. That would explain the time lapse between when we see the date indicated that payment has been sent and when the checks actually start arriving.
It could mean the data has been calculated and sent for the checks to be processed, and then mailed.
Spot on .......
This is just confirmation that things the adsense end has been calculated and the data has gone to the payment processor / printers and then it will be mailed out.
Don't expect to see anything before the 5th of March.
I REALLY DONT GET THE CHECK METHOD!
I got the check after 1 mont, I go to the banck and they are mailing the chec back in USA with DHL.
After ~ 3 weeks the money are transfered to my bank account from USA using wire transfer :(
So ...
Where is the deal?
I really want direct wire tranfer :@
No more checks and related problems...
I wonder if the one that came up with the Thanksgiving holiday excuse has been promoted by now :)
With the amount of money Google is paying out, I'll bet each day they sit on it pays for another bean counter for a month, and each new bean counter can advise them of at least one more excuse to delay payment.
I doubt this is the case. Assuming that they are paying $10,000,000 every month. Using current market rates for Fed Funds of 1% then:
( $10MM x 1%) / 365 = $274
Average annual pay for a bean counter = $61,339 {could not get it for Mountain View, but San Jose is pretty close}.
Monthly pay = $5,112
From Salary.com
The median expected salary for a typical Accountant III in San Jose, CA, is $61,339. This basic market pricing report was prepared using our Certified Compensation Professionals' analysis of survey data collected from thousands of HR departments at employers of all sizes, industries and geographies.
BTW, San Jose is a pretty expensive place to live. Moving from my hometown {a top 20 US City} to it would require a 56% increase in my salary to mantain my standard of living {according to one internet source}
I personally don't think they have a premeditated reason for keeping payments, possibly just organizational challenges.
After the last few months I gather that their "payment sent" really means..."We have processed your clicks and your check is confirmed to be X amount of dollars...we sent it on for check printing...YOU ARE NOW IN THE LOOP!
We know that Google has not kept the payment on time lately but give me a break. I'm tired of reading this.
Change the text on the Payment history date page from 'Payment sent' to 'Payment approved'. Not only would that cut down on the disappointment of checks not arriving shortly after the date, but it would also create a warm fuzzy feeling. My belief from reading this forum is that the unfortunate labeling of that date is the source of one of the three or four biggest gripes about adsense. And, that one is pretty easy to fix. ;)
And a Payment arrived note in the admin would be cool to.
C'mon fellows ...
Google is smarter than to make the same mistake twice.. I stick with my estimate that the checks have already hit the mail.
LOL! Wow that was great! Yes I think everyone gets a little too worried about these little things. How about we all go build some content and let the checks arrive when they will anyway? ;)
Now if you want to talk about Google doing bank deposits...I'm all for it!
