How to get more ads?

How do I get Adsense to show more ads on a 4 ad layout?

I have recently switched from 480 pixel wide banners to 600 pixel high sky scrapers and I have noticed that Google Adsense often only fills out one or two of 4 ad placeholders.

Is there a way to get Google Adsense to show more general ads? I realise this may have something to do with how my page is categorised.

(Example links removed by request - sorry.)

Any hints (that will not get me banned for manipulation)?

FYI, you better remove the links to your page.

That's not allowed here.

As for your question, someone will be able to answer it...just not me :)

Part of the problem probably is that my pages are mostly applet games which are harder for Google to categorise because there is very little text.

Not realy. The number of displayed Ads depends on the number of actual booked AdWord Ads for the specific keyword/phrase. The broader the topic of a site (in the eyes of the mediapartners bot) the more ads *might* be displayed. But even if the topic is broad it's possible that only two advertizers run Ads related to it. You can't influence the number of displayed ads unless you change your pages' topics. Afaik.

Maybe - but there is one game that has a robot in it: On that page Adsense is only displaying ads selling robots.

There was another which used to be only ads for danish hotels (there was some danish in the page url).

The rest are showing ads related to retro gaming or Java programming.
