Hey,

Over the last few weeks my traffic has been the same but my number of clicks has reduced by over 50% for not reason, is anyone else seeing anything like this?

I've been searching for answers but just can't figure it out. Adsense is my living so fixing it is pretty important for me.

Thanks.

There are loads of recent threads here about similar instances.

Adsense is my living

Brave person!

You mean you have absolutely no alternative source of income?

If so then you'd better start looking soon since even the big AdSense publishers have multiple income streams.

Tight rope and walker comes to mind here...

If you manage to "fix it" let us know how. Good luck in your efforts.

Are you really saying that your impressions as measured by Google are unchanged but your CTR has dropped by half? Not to say it's impossible, but it's unlikely that your traffic could really stay the same given that school's out and we have moved into summer vacation time in the Northern Hemisphere, and both Canada and the USA are enjoying national holiday long weekends.

If you're using gut-feeling indicators like "my log is the same size as usual" or "my forum is as busy as ever", those are not scientific measurements.

vacation time > hording disposible income > less interest in clicking on things that would cost money

Maybe?

Depends on what your publishing & selling.

MadSense is my living now too with a little help from YPN (Yes Pretty Near). I freelance so I can always go back to work but do I want to? If things got rough I could. You should have some kind of alternative avenue to tap if things dried up.

I'm measuring my traffic by looking at the adsense impressions. They have remained 4-450k a day. This weekend was a bit lower than usual weekends but not by that much, weekends always being a fair bit lower in traffic for me.

Maybe like you guys say it's the hot weather, time of school/uni and maybe even the football since 80% of my traffic is from the UK - maybe England being out will do my adsense some good :)

Perhaps Adsense should carry a warning like those on financial services ads:

"Click through rates can go down as well as up"

CTR on my site has been down all through June. Possibly the footie, maybe just general ad blindness setting in.
