Are Google advertisers aware that they generate clicks via adsense?

How do advertisers sign up to push their ads through Adsense? How does Google decide what advertisers ads to be served through adsense?

Are Google advertisers aware of the fact that they are generating clicks through adsense program on other sites? Can anyone assist me and point out to any specific discussions on these important issues

advertisers have the option to use the search network, which is google and the search partners (aol etc) and content network, which is the sites that display adsense on them.

I would hope advertisers are aware of this. You can also have separate bids for the search network and the content network, as the search network usually has a much higher conversion rate.
