Rotating Thumbnails above Adsense

I just ran across this site that has small rotating images above their adsense links. I did'nt even realize they were ads at first. I would imagine this would greatly increase CTR.

ultimatemustangs .org

Has anyone here tried this?
Is it an issue with adsense TOS?

You would do well to remove the link before the mods do.

Quite frankly I see a ban waiting to happen. They are calling attention to the ads.

This is what google says on "images above adsense ads"

“Publishers are still welcome to place images above the ads. The only exception is if it’s in such a way that it looks like the images are part of the ads.

When something like that comes to our attention, we’ll ask that the publisher place a visible border between the ads and the images, to make it clear that the images are not being served by Google on behalf of the advertisers. We generally do not ask publishers to remove the images completely, we just ask that they add borders to avoid confusion.”

You're pushing the limits of AdSense. According to Google TOS, you can't use the "ContentLink/Kontera" ads on the same page as AdSense, because they're contextual ads based on the content (just like AdSense). I was going to put similar links on my sites, but Google said it wasn't OK so I didn't do it. My advise is to not take chances. If Google bans you, it's next to impossible to get back in.

I want to get to the bottom of this and get an answer as to why some very well known sites have Adsense+Intellitxt or Adsense+Kontera.

The answer is forthcoming but I suspect it is because Intellitxt and Kontera offer a non contextual mode.

Wow, those ADS are extremely well blended in. I can see a 10% + CTR.

I thank everyone for their responses. There seems to be some confusion in regards to the link I posted. UlimateMustangs .org is not my website. It was simply a site a ran across using an interesting method to "blend" adsense ads with his content. I was curious as to what some of the experts on this forum would think of it.

It seems my curiosity has been fulfilled, this guy is simply breaking the google TOS.
