AS Impressions vs Webalizer

Adsense numbers more likely to be correct. Right?

Yes, I did some searches here and it seems clear from the posts that I read that where Webalizer tells me the following about March and one of my old mini-sites:

Total Hits 9142
Total Files 6058
Total Pages 7144
***Total Visits 2864 ***
Total KBytes 130651

Total Unique Sites 785
Total Unique URLs 1002
Total Unique Referrers 158
Total Unique User Agents 297

but Adsense tells me I only had 24 impressions for the month, neither is 100% accurate but it is much more likely that my true traffic on that site is much more likely to be a couple of dozen people plus thousands of spider visits for the month as opposed to around 2,000 visitors/people.

My inclination is to evaluate site traffic based on Adsense impressions instead of Webalizer's 2864 visitors. Do I have it right?
Thanks.

Do you have adsense code on each and every page of the site?

1- set alternate code in each ad and see how many alternates were served
2- drop Webalizer and get awstats or google analytics

that should take care of it.

The quieter the site the more inaccurate is Webalizer owing to spiders, rogue bots etc which may show up to 70-80% as visitors when they clearly are not.
