How long does it take for the ads to reflect new content?

I have a site that runs AdSense, it's working great. 3 days ago I made a copy of the site and put different content on it. However, before I got a chance to make any content changes, AdSense picked up the old stuff, so it is running the same ads as the first site.

I tried www.newsite.com/index.html?x=1 (same thing, but the AdSense bot sees it as something new), and within 5 minutes that URL was running PERFECT ads. However the main page itself still has the wrong ones. How often do the ads get updated, and is there any way to speed this up?

They told me it takes several weeks:

Hi Jonathan,

When new pages are added to your website or introduced to the AdSense program, our crawlers will usually get to them within 30 minutes. If you make changes to a page, however, it may take up to 2 or 3 weeks before the changes are reflected in our index. Until we are able to crawl your web pages, you may notice less-targeted ads or public service ads, for which you will not receive any earnings.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

The Google Team

Makes sense as you wouldn't want the bot at your site every half hour for every page :). My suggestion is you change to index.htm

The fact that they can get to new pages within 30 minutes is quite staggering considering the number of new pages that are added daily and the number of new adsense sites added daily. Will be interesting to see if this works.

>>the number of new adsense sites added daily

As a matter of interest does anyone have an actual figure for:

1. Number of Sites/pages on Adsense

2. Numbers now being added daily

3. What is their volume split between SE and Context impressions

I would be interested to see the scale of it. I am sure Google are releasing very little, but someone may have come across a nugget!
