In fact, most medium- to high-traffic publishers probably do change ad colors globally (or throughout major sections of their sites) whenever they do make changes, simply because it's impractical to change the code manually in hundreds or thousands of different files.
I too change colors after putting the code on the page.
I also change the chanel code afterwards ...
TOS say after the code is generated, it shouldn't be changed. I guess i break rule when I do that. And colors and channel code are a part of the code, aren't they?
Or are they just the variable and therefore not the code? So what is the code and what is not?
Changing the width of a vertical link unit for example would make ad links colourde header the same width as my sidebar. This helps, but i would change the code from
google_ad_width = 160;
to
google_ad_width = 190;
Is this allowed or not. On one hand the tos says, changing layout is wrong .. on the other hand the want people to adjust ads to be a natural part of a website.
That goes for colors, too. If you want to change colors, do it through the AdSense user console and let it generate the new code (which you can then paste into your pages).
I strongly urge you to read the AdSense "Terms and Conditions" and "Program Policies" before doing anything that you're uncertain about. And if you still aren't sure what's OK or not OK, ask AdSense Support.
you may directly update the hex color codes of the ad units on your websites.
For whatever reason, I know not why, sometimes when manually altering the hex code the colours may not display correctly therefore do it via the palette and then you can check it is ok.
