I think I may have figured out why google cancels for invalid clicks!

I looked in my server logs and found that a MASSIVE amount of traffic came from one ip number. After doing a search on a whois site for the IP i found that it was for a virginia school district! So the many kids that browsed my site may have clicked 1 ad a piece but they all came from one IP number (behind a network). Google probably thought this was one person clicking when in fact it most likely wasn't.

This is only based off of what I observed and have not contacted google about this (and probably never will).

Why are you assuming they clicked on any of your AdSense ads?

Over what period of time were users from that IP on your site? Did you see a spike in your CTR over that same period of time?

The traffic from that IP started less than a month before my 'cancelation'. And my clicks rose along with page views.

That seems unlikely, IMHO. Still, I guess it's always possible that, if a significant percentage of your clicks were coming from a site that Google identified as a K-12 school system, Google might have decided to cancel your account for the sake of protecting advertisers. (As several of us have pointed out in other threads, accounts could be disabled for a variety of reasons besides publisher fraud.)

I would believe it to be unlikely for Google to cancel anyone due to clicks from a single IP address, unless it was the same IP address used to login to the AdSense account for that domain.

You can always try contacting Google with this new information, but as Blue_Fin said, you don't even know if this was merely a coincidence or if anyone from that IP even clicked on an ad.

I also doubt that Google axed your account because of hits from a school district. The bulk of my traffic comes from students and it is not uncommon for every computer in a given classroom to be on my site at the same time. Yet I rarely to never see a sudden spike in hits. I actually think kids are less likely to click on AdSense ads than others as I have a much lower CRT than I have seen people post in this and several other forums.

Kids can be very savvy Internet users and I don't think they are likely to click on ads unless they are really interested in them.

I'm sure Google have thought of this. If I were them I would use cookies as part of my tracking, since they can identify individual user sessions even when the IP address is the same.
