Okay, let's say you had a site designed for doctors with news and resources relevant to them.

In one of the adlinks blocks, the topics were medical supplies, advanced medical training, etc.

Then, one of the topics that came up was about filing malpractice suits against doctors. Obviously, site visitors will be offended by this.

Is there a way to block this particular topic?

Thanks.

Hi there --

While you can't block link units by topic, you can still block the ads themselves. In the example you mentioned, I'd recommend blocking all of the URLs listed under 'malpractice suits'.

You might also try using section targeting to help our crawlers determine which parts of your site are relevant for advertising.

That's rich, blocking links by filtering every ad in the category.

Since AdSense only gives us 200 lousy slots to filter ads what you're suggesting could easily exceed the limit without even trying, not to mention it would have to be an ongoing thing as new advertisers come online daily.

Crazy talk I tell ya.

Quite agree incrediBILL
Google returns 1,940,000 results ( it says )for 'malpractice suits' how do we fit those in a 200 limit list.

We have just started with adsense on a few pages on our sites, hit the 200 limit in oh about 2 days!

makes a little sense

ASA, I think that it would be an excellent feature if you guys could somehow allow us to block topics in adlink units.

One of the reasons I dont run AdSense on most of my websites. The ads are way off my topic and I have only 200 URL to block. We need to be able to use keywords for targeting and also unlimited blocking.

Until that I have tons of page views without adsense. Yahoo is doing better with the targeting option however lack of quality ads is the reason I dont use them either.
