Learning Adsense

I was wondering if this is okay? I saw somebody doing this.

The site is for a city .us address

The site is a portal page with a little content, a weather report, and a news feed plus dozens of link buttons for services such as lawyers, loans, etc.

The buttons are actually google searches related to city + profession.

I'm no expert, but as none of the more experienced AdSense players seem to have answered, I don't think what you're planning should be a problem.

Well, since you don't mention there is Adsense involved, I guess everyone in this forum will be fine with it;-)

This is not my site but it is an adsense site of somebody I know. I am probably not painting a very clear picture of what they are doing.

It may be better to put a little more effort into it and create a directory type of site with local links/info/weather etc...and put up a forum for the locals to communicate local issues, things to see, that sort of thing.

If there is adsense and site is with little content..then it is most probably a MFA ( Made for Adsense site ) .

Read any thread on MFA on this forum and you may rethink your decision to start or promote such a site.

I don't want to buid a site like this. I don't want to optimize a site like this. I don't own a site like this. I was asking if it was against the TOS. I should be more clear I am sorry. Is there a book or website that is not pie in the sky get rich quick nonsense where somebody can educate themselves before posting lots of easily answered questions that everybody else has asked a million times. I am looking for something that is about building a "real" business.
