How long did it take you to reach $100?

I love reading about people taking 5,6,7 months to make their first $100 and then earning suddently rockting and some even making that much a day now.

So how long did it take for you to make the fist $100? Already established sites will have made that figure much sooner of course.

Reached a $100 the first week over 2 years ago, wish I knew then what I do now about what works for my site.

Took about 2 months. Breached $100 total a few days ago.

About 3 months. But that was with only 20 pages; 10 Adsense ads placed; and absolutely no traffic.

Only recently (past 5 months) have I started optimizing; adding more pages; etc.

Now I am closing in on $100 every 2 or 3 days, still a mere fraction of what some people are making.

2nd day made only 70 in 24 hours though.
Averages 125/135 a day now.

I had a bunch of hobby sites that existed for 10 years before adsense. I uploaded them all with the added adsense (2 blocks - blended in the content, obvious in the right side of the page)and watched! Was pretty surprised! Took my laptop to the pub to watch! Those sites already had good "real" traffic though.

4 months. Absolutely started from scratch (brand new site, no traffic).
Now about $450 per month.

I'm reaching my first $100 this month.. has taken about 2,5 month. Site was brand new, had no traffic and is my first page ever.

Brand new site..
Took about 45 days to hit my first $100, but much of that was traffic generated by being mentioned on a radio show in my niche (that died off after about a week)..
Now (3 months later)i'm making from $1-$6/day (averaging $3)..

Still not a lot of traffic coming in.

It took 2.5 months, started a blog adding content daily, upto about 59 pages and already getting about 50 visitors per day through my articles, earning average about $1 to $2 a day which aint bad for me first attempt.

Per my discussion here [webmasterworld.com], it took me 2.5 years. I came awfully close, but only yesterday did I break $100/day.

Granted, my site has been growing over that period...

My first day on AdSense (June 27, 2003), I had 3,200 impressions and made .35 cents. Yesterday, I had 100,000 impressions and made $105.

Started Dec 15 2004 on an established site that receives about 5000 visits per day, it reached 176.88 for that month, I have a copy of that check framed on the wall, was ready to throw in the towel, now doing bout 2k per month.

I had built a new website and didn't even know what adsense was. Found out about it and have been building traffic ever since. I'm still not rich but the trend is positive.

Nice way of putting it. My site was about 3 months old when I placed adsense. I did absolutely nothing to increase traffic and/or adsense earnings for 60 days but still made almost $200. After that I got serious and started working on the site and building traffic. The progress is slow but its improving! Here are my figures:

2nd $100 43 days
3rd $100 29 days
4th $100 12 days
5th $100 10 days

My aim is to hit $100 per day in the next 40 days.

Crick, my traffic has gone up slightly since then, my increased earnings are pretty much from tweeking and adding ads to more pages.

Back when I started in april 2004 it took me 15 days, now April 2006 it took 5 days to reach $100.

Guess I haven't expressed myself properly.
$50 was my best day ever (december 2005).
My worst day this year (2006) was below $5.
Hence my earnings are somewhere between $5 and $50.

This month it's mostly between $5 and $20.
That still is very volatile but nothing special since my page views are only 1000-2000 a day.
If one advertiser runs out of budget, my earnings go
down the drain. But if you do the math you'll see my ECPM is OK.

My first blog, started at the end of january, just broke $100 total the other day. It gets roughly 100-250 visitors per day. February earnings were $11. March earnings were $60ish. It will probably earn $100 for the month of April.

I have since launched nine other sites - all with good solid content - using the same and approach. Very niche, very targeted.

I reached it in my first few days, which were still some of my all-time highest earnings. I promoted my site very heavily and got a lot of new traffic from people in my niche who had never seen it before.

The last week of November I put up one letterboard on one indexpage and made $20 the first day. Then I put one on my other index and made $100 in the next 3 days. Jan 1 I split my paid $50 product into 12 pages and 24 downloads and put 3 ad units and a link unit on every page and made $2,000 for Christmas. Sales had dwindled on my paid product over the last 2 years down from 3K to $800, now I'm back in the ball park.

Now I am getting pretty close to the $100 a day mark with a YPN/Adsense Combo with one tower and a link unit G and one tower Y.

Rolling out a new product line by June that will outperform the previous one I sacrificed to Adsense.

I registered with Google & Yahoo (for free and got put up in a week) in 1998 and had a number 1 keyword in my niche ever since (plus a bevy of other page ones).
