I wonder if someone else also is experiencing a very low ecpm
my CTR is good, below 1.0% but ecpm is like less then half as compared to earlier months Jan and Feb.
and my earnings have been affected
my traffic has increased from earlier
but still ecpm low , too low
is there anything we can do to optimize the ecpm so it dont get too low resulting in too low earnings?
I have the same thing, ctr and page views ok, but ecpm bouncing, mostly down. No matter my content, ad placement or ad colors, Adsense moves in mysterious ways. I am 1 year with Adsense now, and I bellieve the ecpm mystery is not something that will be solved easily. Of course there are many theories about this (smart-pricing, seasons, advertisers dropping out, Google just moving the money-bucket, etcetera) but the trouble is, most of them make sense. So wich one to use as a decision model? Guess I'll concentrate on making content and spending the money...
My eCPM is about 50% or less of just before Christmas, and this applies to my AS ads as well as my unrealted CPM ad networks.
The timing of the drop was a little out of sync between the networks, but otherwise they seem to track quite closely, so for me this is a market issue, not a G issue.

Clean up any security holes you may have. Make sure people are coming in on terms you target.
Can you be more specific, which security holes you mean.
Also: Do bots really generate AdSense pageviews. I thought only organic traffic does that (bots don't execute the javascript in html, do they?)
Advertisers hate the things too, so bid less on the content network (and so would I) or switch off content advertising all together. Even my mum no longer clicks on the ads.
This inevitably leads to less competition for ad space, (less advertisers) and due to the mass of garbage pages out there the ad space is cheap anyway!
Google need to set some standards to cure this problem. All we can do is add any mfa sites we find to the ad filter for the moment. It helps loads! But isnt the real answer.
One site I have had for sometime has enjoyed an increase in adsense earnings .... about a year ago the site was making maybe 20 bucks a day. Up till about three days ago the site was really kicking but earning $60 and $70 a day with the additional of targeted content pages and good adsense placement.
Then about thee days ago .... the sky feel. My adsense income has dropped by maybe about 45%?
Ugh ....what to do!
