AdWords advice on low Page CTR

Page CTR: 1.2%, how to improove it

Hello,
I am new to AdWords and I wanted to hear opinions if I am doing it right. The earnings are not as expected.
I have a fitness/nutrition/diet forum. I have about 500 uni ques per day according to AwStats, all traffic comes from search engines and bookmarks.

Here are my AdWords numbers for this month:
Page impressions: 50,000
Page CTR: 1.2%
Page eCPM: $4.50

The numbers are rounded up and are not exact... I see that the CTR is low. Is there something I can do, besides bringing more traffic, to boost my earnings.

I would be interested in advice for this to, my site is more of informational site and does not offer any products for sale, the clients that come to my site are in the 14-30 year old genre and may not be that prone to click on ads.

Unique Visiotrs: 1,000 / day

Page Views: 25,000 / day

Average CTR: 0.9%

Average ECPN: $1.90
