Just now I click once by accident an adsense ad on my site. Should I write to google to explain this?
I am scared.

If it would clear your conscious you could. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it, just try really hard not to let it happen again. If Google banned every person who accidentally left-clicked instead of right-clicked on an ad they would have very few AdSense members left. If they detected you doing it repetitively, however, they might ding you for it.

With that said one should make every effort to make sure that they don't click on ads in their own AdSense banners even out of curiosity as it is essentially stealing money from the advertiser.

Here are a lot of opinions for you.

I hope you will disregard the comments by Brett Tabke in that thread, as others have strongly recommended.

did that myself about 2 weeks back. Wrote google and told them what ad I clicked on and on what page and at what time. Got a nice reply basically saying thanks for letting us know. No harm done.

Better safe than sorry is my motto if you want to be in AdSense for the long haul.

Yes, report it immediately. Don't wait.

I wouldn't bother. You'll just be cluttering up the support department's mailbox with useless mail.

I have this vision of Google support laughing at how paranoid people are over one silly little click.

They did respond on my email when telling them that I have clicked mistakenly just once.

They have responded on every single e-mail while setting up AdSense at 11 domains.

I say it never hurts to contact them, if it is obsolete they would just ignore, but at least you show cooperation.

Cheers, Jens

Had that happen to me as well...a quick email and a prompt reply later, I was able to sleep much more peacefully.

You guys rock.
Any advertiser reading these posts would certainly plunge into Adsense with trust to see if that works for him/her.

Maybe there should be a certification for the websites owned by WebmasterWorld members :)

something like WebmasterWorld ring of websites..though webrings are outdated

I think you should get up slowly from your chair turn round and face the wall for at least 10 minutes chanting " I promise I will never click on a adsense link on my site again" repeat over and over again

Then get a envelope and place a used 10 dollar bill inside with an apology note also saying
"I promise I will never click on a adsense link from my site again"

and post to googleplex
