Well I use adsense since 2003!
And runing about 250 websites ( not all of them use adsense )

And I have website with 140.000 page impressions per day but earning 4.5$ never hit 8$ per day on a single website!

But recently after reading articles here and there about 10k per months etc... I Got the feeling that some of you guys just lie about those high earnings!

I am in internet business since 1996. Don't really care much about adsense earnings just curious.

Open me if I am wrong!

I'm not making 10K a month, but I can't understand why anyone would be think that anyone claiming to make that amount of money must be lying.

Why? Because $800/month from a small personal site. It has information of interest to a fairly small niche audience, and the average clicks aren't very high. I don't spend a lot of time working on it, and I'm not trying to make the absolute maximum amount of money from it.

So it's easy for me to imagine that someone with more skills than I have, working full time, could maintain 12 sites like mine, or one much larger site, and make $10,000 a month.

And how you can earn that much with 0.01 - 0.02 cents per click usless you run a webste with zillions of page views.
I assume that you mean 0.01 to 0.02 DOLLARS per click.

A penny or two per click is extremely low. I started a couple of weeks ago, and I average about 54 cents per click.

So if I have multiple accounts every one of which earns more than $10K per month I must be Pinocchio himself? :)

Making $10k per month with adsense is 100% believable!

Yes there are some people that lie, anyone can sign up for this forum and post bogus stats and rumors or pretty much anything they feel like. But some of us here have huge sites, some of you guys might even visit them daily and not even know that it belongs to the guy that posted above or below you on this forum. There are tons of people out there that make over 10k per month. I can probably name couple websites of my head that i know have adsense on them and are probably making 10k or close to it each month.

best_Wish,

If you have 140k impressions per day and earn $4.5 and your site has been out for 3 years then you are probably doing something wrong. If i was you i would reposition your adsense in different spots. Change colors, different size, etc. Give your page a new look. You should be making more than that.

I have spent just over a year with adsense and this forum. I completly beleive you can make 10k a month. This month it looks like I will break 3k with one website (if all stays the way it is now) with avg 80k-90k impressions daily.

If you are getting that many impressions daily, you need to do some reformatting of your layout and possiblly colors etc. Or your numbers are off.

Newskool
i agree theese ppl hav gotta lie

Das rite, I am one big liar ppl ;oP

I don't make 10k/m with Adsense but I do make $30 a day with around 200-300 visitors.

How dat can bee? I hear you ask.

It's the niche! Big Adwords Bidders. Go build a page about re-mortgages, target it to the American market and put Adsense on it. You will often see more than $4.50 PER CLICK. 2000 clicks a day and you're nearly at $10k PER DAY!

Now, that is my tip of the day. Go play with it.

2000 clicks a day is naff all for some folk. That would only be a 2 and a bit%CTR on BestWish's stats.

if you are targetting the American or UK market, it is easier to get traffic and $10K. for other traffic/markets it is more difficult, since there not enough advertisers. I dont think there are more than 10K individual publishers (not big media houses) making more than $10K per month

Why is it that we continuously see these post accusing members of lying about their earnings? Is it jealously? Why is it so hard to believe that many websites earn $100,000 and in many cases much more. I know for a fact that there are sites earning $250,000 annually. What would be the purpose of a conspiracy involving many members claiming high earnings?

I have just made my first $100 day, but I cannot see why my earnings should not rise to the $10,000 figure? It all depends on what you are doing.

dollarshort - you beat me to it. :)

What's the going rate for a website? 7-12 * 1 month revenue?

I think many people judge the performance of the entire member publishers of Adsense based on their OWN performance. Hence, when they see that they are not performing well - 140K impressions a day for less than $100 -- then they immediately judge that others may not be doing as well. And those who say they are are lying.

It is hard when you look at the world myopically, solely from your own experiences. That just ain't the complete picture.

That's the ongoing rate yes. However there are more things to consider, I wouldn't sell my site for 12 months revenue after developing it for about 8 years. I've had offers for $200,000 but that's not enough ;)

I make over 8k a month with less than 25,000 impressions per day. Not far from hitting 10k.

It all depends on the subject of your site and ad placement.

A top tip for best_Wish

There are 1 or 2 aff networks that do pay per impression advertising. With the amount of page views that you get you might make more than using adsense.

I think the key is the audience.
Even your site is in English, if your audiences are not from English speaking country, those quality ads won't show up on your website. That makes your site full of MFA with very low pay per click rate.

Something I find interesting here is that members who post about making the big bucks don't show their homepage in their profiles. Why is that?

  • Because they want to be able to speak openly about personal stuff, e.g. site stats and earnings.
  • Because they're past the stage where they're dying for everyone to visit their website.
  • Because there's some downside in letting this particular audience know about valuable niches they rely on, and no upside.
  • Because they might want to "out" cheaters or even criticize Google without worrying about retribution.

    Niche, niche, niche

I have one site - low traffic high ad revenue, another high traffic low eCPM. You make a call as to which you go for and there you go ...

    I totally agree.
I too run a site with comparatively low traffic site (good eCPM) 300-400 uniques (average 800 inpressions) per day over about 10 pages or so with ads on a 40 page site. Although I don't shatter any records with my income, it is in the low 000's ks per month.

I can quite easily see how other some webmasters make 10000 per month or even more with their larger sites.

From what I see, you've got two problems:

    4.50 / Day 140,000 impressions, $0.01 to $0.02 per click... Hmmm

Works out to a CTR of 0.2% and an eCPM of $0.03. Not good. If you're convinced you've got good placement of Ads, then you might want to switch to a page impression model. Depending on the niche, you should be making hundreds per day / thousands per month.

That's just terrible. I have a site with about 200k page views a day and make between 150-200$ daily. And it's entertainment category. You're doing something seriously wrong, try experimenting with your ad colours, placement, etc.

    lol!
    200 pageviews and 200$?! ummm

Also if it was not for TOS I was ready to post my awstate so you people see what I mean.

No way! I have website which has PR6 and about 20.000
But still fighting under 1$ sometimes lucky goes over sometimes stay below :)

Do people visits your site just for clicking on your Ads!?

But I don't care much about adsense earnings because I earn $10k from members subscriptions.[ But still I feel not good about those your adsense income compare to mine ]

Two months ago i wud not have believed that it was possible to make that much with AS.

But after reading these forums and two months of trying out - i'm already hitting 100$/day which is 3000$/month...

10K is just around the corner :)

And my page views are not 1% of yours ;)

    And runing about 250 websites

but earning 4.5$ never hit 8$ per day on a single website!

I'm confused. Do you make $4.50 a day all together, or per website?

    250 * $4.50 = $1,125

I assume you mean all together?

Either way i'm impressed with some of the numbers in this thread. It has motivated me to touch up my site and try to drive more traffic to it. The biggest question is, where do you get traffic. Just from organic SE, or do you go PPC, link trades, etc?

    Thanks
