Went to one of my main earning pages and there it waas again along with a PSA.

What is going on? No wonder I am only getting about half the clicks I was getting!

This has to be a glitch on Google's end. To start with my impressions are way down, and my log files tell me that that's just not the case.

One would expect Google to post some sort of notice advising us of an techical issue, rather than just letting us lose sleep over it. ;)

An announcement about a problem that affects revenue before it hits the financial press, and while the markets are still closed seems unlikely in the extreme. But a rumor on Wall Street tomorrow could force an explanation. Let's hope it's all fixed and smoothed over by then. :)

My numbers at this moment are normal for a weekend but then I posted the same message yesterday at this time and things fell apart later--my final for the day was 30-40% low.

Question; did this problem affect the performance of your sites? I had tons of problems with my site, which is on a VPS server. Support couldn't figure it out and neither could I. Only thing that support noticed was higher loads with Google (I guess they meant adsense). Quite often my pages with adsense on it were loading slow or were unavailable. I don't think the pages that didn't have adsense were all that slow if I remember well.

I also had a 25% increase in traffic that day of about 1,000 visitors, yet I made about 25% less with adsense. Today everything seems to be fine again, nothing has changed on the server and it's as responsive like always.

Yesterday I made two records, the most clicks ever, and the lowest eCPM ever. Earnings went down 50% at the end of the day.

To counter the situation even more, I removed a few not-so-well performing channels. The result, today still 30% below normal rates, even though CTR at all time high.

Maybe this is some global smart pricing in effect, since so many people are having the same problem!

I think it is about something seriously wrong with the adsense servers or algos or whatever that we are not being told what it is or even what to expect.

India ads are gone, now I have music downloads....joy, joy. Doesn't fit at all either. One new ad had a landing page so heavy that it would only half load and sit there grinding. If it won't load it surely won't convert...2 more ads into the filter.

For me I haven't noticed any major problems yet. My figures are pretty low but that could be tied into a down turn in things like traffic that has been happening for a while. Ads seem reasonably on target as well.

C'mon, use some some common sense dude. Lots of people are complaining and for your information that there is most definitely something going on; all the new pages on my site that went from zero to PR5/6 and stayed there for over a week are now all black to zero.

THere is most definitely something going on and we don't need to news to know. You're a little shortminded to think as long as nothing affects you that everything is ok everywhere else, because this thread proves that this is simply not the case.

Yes, but scattered earnings drops and poor targeting aren't "big problems" in a news sense. I checked around some other forums and this hasn't really made a stir yet. It appears that WebmasterWorld is the coal mine and we are the canaries. Alarmist threads are probably too common here, this forum seems to be the place to go when things are a bit "off." There was a recent thread about this...

I personally like to compare notes here but maybe I'm too obsessive with it.

I was only commenting as the initial post was stating all Google servers are down. Google is a big site, the last time it went down there was a lot of coverage instantly.

There have also been posts of UK DNS problems, so glancing at the posts it would seem as though there were some very big problems hitting Google and the net...

Sure there are all kinds of reasons why some may having problems and others aren't (Geo targetting, acessing different Google servers etc) so it'll be interesting to read any reports on it.

If they really wanted all webmasters to disable adsense I'm sure AdSense Adviser would have told us on this forum.

Even Googe search has been briefly down on and off. Something is going on but I'm sure they can disable adsense from their end if needed. Maybe they are just slowing things done a bit. I'm noticing just 2 ads on the rectangles over the last couple of days.

Reading about the zombi networks gives me a bad feeling like that is where our clicks have gone. Today is terrible but so everyday has been a gradual downhill slide since mid Feb.

If true it could mean the end of Googles adsense program.

The entire industry of PPC models of advertising and publishing would be brought down.
