I have a very understanding and fit girlfreind. I have 1 page that has an image of her that is tastfully done (although scantily clad...).

This one page has a few other photos, and is basically about bikes. It gets 1900 to 2400 daily visitors via google images. It has a script that jumps out of the frame. it earns 50 to 60 dollars a day alone at the moment! Now this is all luck, because that image happens to be number one for a VERY common image search. I wouldnt know how it happened and couldnt do it again!

Read and Reread WebmasterWorld...

But not to much, You need also time to develop the content.

Adwords didnt work quite well for me.
I spent $95 last month on Adwords to make a small $113.
This is a very low return.Initially I wanted to improve the booking rates on my hotels site but I only made 2 reservations last month.

Thats because you are wasting money buying traffic because your content does not atract natural links and therefore isnt search freindly? Another mfa for the filter possibly? Just asking...

Do you actually sell anything? aPART FROM aff links, or ads? Any real products or services? Or another middleman making money from the internet?

Adwords didnt work quite well for me.

If you used it to attract people to a new site, or to advertise new features of your site, it worked.

If you used it to steer people towards good deals on reservations (you mentioned taking reservations, so I assume your not simply an AdSense-oriented site), then it didn't work so hot if you only had a few reservations, and in which case, AdWords is not the problem - something about your site didn't encourage people to file reservations, or was attracting the wrong people (people who weren't interested in reservations in the first place).

If you were using AW simply to bring in traffic for AdSense, then it's probably not going to work, period. Even if you weren't in a highly competetive industry to begin with, AW -> AS is still not a good business model - read through the AW forums and you'll see what I mean, very few make it work, and you'd get more of a return using your AW money elsewhere (i.e. paying somebody to write articles).

As Nitrous said, you have to have good content - if you had spend $90 on a three or four really good articles, you would have brought in a lot more traffic through the search engines, traffic that might have been more prone to clicking AS.
