Overall are you happy with AdSense?
I understand that this question is very open and can have many variables but to simplify things...
Bad things
1) The TOS make the rights from the publishers very thin. -3
2) Publishers get kicked without reason. -1
4) Sites getting attacked by concurrent, so that you get kicked out. -1
Good things
1) Money is not bad (nice as extra). +3
2) Ads are target. +1
If google was my only income, then I have a heart attack withing a year.
I am real happy with the numbers so far that Adsense is generating but I haven't seen a check yet. Is October the only month they have been late with or is this the norm?
This is the first month that the checks have been late.
Ok well from all the feedback so far I would say that AdSenseAdvisor will be getting the #1 question!
Can something be put in place so publishers don't have to worry so much? ( White Hat AdSense Publishers ;) )
TOS not restrictive enough....too many non intended sites displaying adds. Perhaps should restate this as enforcemnet of TOS. Was glad to hear that Google starting to manually look at sites. Keep hearing how restrictive terms are...keep saying read some of the others out there. At least google does not have a "fine" for cancellation due to "fraud".
Ads displayed....technically get ads on the site....still seems to be an issue with targetting that became worse after Oct 12 broad matching changes. Issue has not been resolved and the erosion of earnings/click although better at this time has not recovered completely.
Response has been "great" from the emails. Unlike others we do not seem to be having problems with "form responses" and although response is not immediate is well within expected business reply times.
Payments have been punctual, again to standard business terms. That Google found themselves in a Holiday crunch, combined with filing of all the tax info this month and wre a few dyas late really doesn't bother us much. Now extend that to 60 days, or having the trend continue would be of concern.
Overall...we see it as being easy to install...or uninstall, fairly open TOS, a responsive partner when problems arise and tend to pay the bills ontime. Wish all my business partners were like this. Would like to see 100 % ads served at high epc's....but apparently Santa Claus has not recieved our letter yet:)
but not one has resturned to complete the post, telling us what the final resolution was on the dollar outstanding issue. Might be getting bad memory in my old age...but anyone else remember the final word from the "banned ones"?
oh please!
and what do you expect? people coming back and saying that they now at mc-donals to meet ends, because google kicked them out
without any fault on their side
?
after asking for someone to confirm it...no one has. We have had many posts over the past months along the line of "I've been kicked out" but not one has resturned to complete the post, telling us what the final resolution was on the dollar outstanding issue.
Sure did, just earlier today, actually. No one has commented on the final resolution of their outstanding earnings because Google has refused to respond.

There have been people here who have been suspended, who have admitted to violating the terms (ie. by clicking their own ads, by putting it on pages/sites that are clearly against the policies, by putting AdSense on sites they are not legally authorized to do so). Not everyone is an innocent publisher who has been suspended over no fault of his/her own - a lot of it is just speculation of what *could* happen.
As with any program that will bring you in money, you should never depend on any money until you have the check in hand - and with some programs, not until the check clears. It isn't quite right to blame Google because someone has to work at McDonalds. It has been repeated here many times, never depend on one source of income, whether it be AdSense, your dependency on appearing in the top ten in the natural Google serps, or from a single affiliate program or site.

Visi, I believe you are correct, I can't recall anyone who has been suspended who has followed up to say whether they received their final payment or not, because it wouldn't be due until a month or so after the suspension was given. Someone did report back saying they had received one payment after receiving a suspension, but he/she received the suspension right at the same time checks for the previous month were being cut, so it is possible his/her check was already done when the suspension was given.
