Asking Adsense cust serv for advice - dangerous?

Hi all,

I've got a site with images next to the ads... As many people point out, Google has said there needs to be a 'border' between the ads and then images - whether this border can be clear white space, or needs to contrast (heavily/lightly?) with the background is unclear...

Anyway, I was going to send off my page to Adsense to see if it was inside or outside the ToS... But what happens if it is outside? Is there a risk of them banning my account for checking if I'm within their ToS?

I don't think they will ban you for asking questions. I'm not sure how quickly they will get back to you, but you shouldn't be penalized for it if their review is negative.

They would probably expect you to change your images/ads to fit within the TOS.

No they won't. I regularly ask them for advice and an opinion if I feel I may be sailing close to the wind or possibly contravening the T&Cs.

95% they have okayed, make sure you keep a copy of THAT mail, and the few they did not they recommended an alternative method.

Remember this, they want you to be successful since the more successful you are, the more they earn too.

I ask them to look at pages occasionally just to be safe. Once they did say to make a change because what I was doing was violating TOS. I made the change, and that was it. They seem to appreciate that I am trying to play honestly.
