I'll give you some background info, just so you know what to expect. Just like with GoogleGuy and AdWordsAdvisor, AdSenseAdvisor is going to be a single person. They'll have their own style of posting. We're going to keep ASA's identity anonymous in case they want to go on vacation, or if we ever need to switch to a different person in a pinch. ASA volunteered to stop by in their limited free time (mostly during work hours), so don't expect a ton of posts, especially at the beginning.
ASA might start out pretty slowly to get a feel for things, and don't expect posts on things that are really future-looking, technical or controversial. The person serving in this role is quite familiar with AdSense because they're a tech writer for the group. But they're not an engineer and not a techie, so I would expect more answers to basic questions or confirming things when people are mostly sure but maybe not positive and a word from a Googler would help. Also, ASA will spend most of their time here trying to answer questions that apply to everyone, so please avoid things along the lines of "AdSenseAdvisor, please help me!"--posts like that are even against the forum charter, I think, to keep the discussion helpful to everyone.
That's about it for now; I'll post if there's something I forgot to add. One more thing to bear in mind: I know just about everyone knows this, but please be friendly. Except for a few very rare exceptions, the vast majority of members here go out of their way to be civil and polite to each other. And the mods do a fantastic job here to make sure that conversations are productive, constructive, and generally just a good place for everyone to hang out. This is someone who is volunteering their free time, so being nice to them is the surest way to keep them coming back to help out. In return, ASA will be happy to chime in when possible and pass feedback on to the AdSense team too.
So please join me in making AdSenseAdvisor feel welcome. Thanks everyone!
When I reply to a rejection email will the same person get my email or will it go into a pool. A few weeks ago the person said my site was acceptable after the rejection but to fix a few links on the site. If I reply will that same person get it or will someone just look at it and think im stupid and ignore it :)
Try to take everything with a grain of salt: some of us get a bit grumpy with Google and/or Adsense from time to time. Please don't take it personally. (Difficult, I know. I always get a bit bent out of shape when people bad-talk my employer, but try.)
You're a bit brave to do this, but I'm sure it'll be appreciated.
Just think of it as "friendly fire."
Heheh.
Glad to have you on board!
JK
I'm looking forward to joining in on this forum - hopefully I'll be able to provide useful information to all of you, as well as pass your feedback to the AdSense team. GoogleGuy and AdWordsAdvisor have paved the way, and done a great job at it too, so I will try to live up to their standards.
And I promise not to take anything personally, JollyK! Thanks for the warning :)
Thanks again everybody.
Regards,
AdSenseAdvisor
If you play your cards right, in no time at all you'll have 1/2 the forum members praying to you for answers and the other half setting up websites analyzing your responses.
Well, I'm mostly kidding there. :)
However, I will say that the advent of AdSense has caused a major positive impact to my life, financial and otherwise, so remember that most of the publishers here really appreciate the whole AdSense team, even if some of them get a bit grumpy about things like late checks and minimal stats sometimes.
We like America. Thanks for Google, amusing TV police chases and Stargate SG1. If you ever fancy a war, you know we're just a call away and will be packed and ready to ship in an hour. :-)
It may take me a while to get to everybody's questions, so I want to thank you all for your patience as I come up to speed. I'll do my best to answer in good time.
And thanks AdWordsAdvisor for your support!
Regards,
AdSenseAdvisor
Such a pleasure having you here within our small but powerful community.
GoogleGuy and AdWordsAdvisor have done a superb job, and I am sure you will be just as good if not better.
Any questions which you may have about adsense, and I am sure you do, feel free to ask, they dont come much better than Jenstar and her fellow forum members.
and NO, you do NOT have to carry AdWordsAdvisor's school bag for the next few weeks because he/she has been here longer than you ;)
really great start to the day.
