Firefox Referral Commission

It's Not $1 Per Referral?

Hi all,

A question concerning the Firefox referral program offered through AdSense.

It says:

When a user you’ve referred to Firefox plus Google Toolbar runs Firefox for the first time, you’ll receive up to $1 in your account, depending on the user’s location.

When they say "depending on the user’s location", do they mean that publishers will only receive a fraction of the full commission rate of $1, OR that publishers will not qualify for any payment if the referral originates from a country not accepted?

On a side note, have any of you had success with this?

Thanks.

I made exactly $0 with Firefox referrers, and I think most other people had similar results.

There is a guy here with a Firefox domain name, but he is the exception.

i have received some commissions from firefox referrals. most of my visitors are from the u.s. and most of my firefox referrals yield $1 commissions. sometimes, i get a sub-dollar commission - they seem to include $0.10 $0.25 and $0.50

I had couple full $1 referrals. Some are less, it all depends what location is the person that downloads it. I make about $10-$15 a week from referrals.

it's so strange, because in my account there's no up to, it says only you receive 1$..

i have been running firefox refferal program for few days, no one clicked, so i just remove it.

I'm the one with the firefox-related domain. Owned it since 1997, long before Mozilla every existed. Just pure dumb luck.

WIsh I got $1 a click. I get substantially less thn that per click. But it's still enough to make it most worthwhile.

Every download is compensated up to US$1, just on a variable scale based upon the country or region of the installing user. This value is determined in advance by specific Mozilla goals per market.

I see...

So I'm assuming that referrals from say China, India, etc. would pay the lowest?

Thanks everyone.

I have run it for a week now, made less the $12. But I have not displayed it prominently.
All the same I think it will be disappearing shortly.

I just switched from the earlier white banner-style Firefox buttons to the orange box-style buttons, and moved the placement from centred near the top of the page to justified left near the top of the page.

I am now getting conversions. All conversions so far have been $1.

I have added The refferal button to my page however all I get is a blank placeholder.

Anyone else get this?

I threw the Fox into a channel that neither Google ads nor other networks perform good in, right now it's earning the cost of a dedicated sever hosting, it's my lowest paying section, not happy, but no complaints.

When I briefly had it up, I had one click, earning one dollar.

I recenlty aquired an expired firefox related domain and have earned a couple of bucks. Most of my conversions pay 10 cents probably due to the china relation of the domain.

As usual, you need Above Top Secret clearance to find out what the actual pay scale is.

Not surprisingly, even the vending machines at the Googleplex work on the same principle. You put in your debit card, and a complex algorithm determines how much you will be charged for your soda -- it factors in your pay grade, the time of day, the number of cans left in the machine, the temperature outside, etc.
