Problems applying using a hotmail account?

Hi All,

Maybe somebosy can tell me this! Are there problems applying for AdSense using a hotmail account? I applied a week ago and no word yet. The same with a simple Google account? And if you aren't approved, do they bother to tell you and then tell you what to do to make your site AdSense compliant!
