It would appear from my earlier post and the other posts on the forum that something has gone wrong at G today with serving of ads or the whole system in general.

People can't log in, ads not showing, ad relevancy poor or non-existent ...

I think they are going to come in to work tomorrow to a very large quantity of support emails.

I am officially going to nominate this as "Black Sunday" - because so far it has cost me several hundred dollars in lost revenue.

As usual, there are people where the opposit is true.

After some weak weeks, this Sunday develops towards the best day of this month.

I can log in just fine, ads are showing just fine, and ads are pretty much on target. What problem?

There are just sometimes bad days.

I personally hate Sundays - revenue is always down overall. I figure the Sunday revenue dip has to be due to people doing church stuff, and just relaxing during the weekend.

because so far it has cost me several hundred dollars in lost revenue.
I have to say I love this statement everytime I hear it. Unless you spend more in advertising to bring people in then LOST is never the word you want to use. Remember if you are making a PROFIT (even 5 cents) you are still making money.

these kinds of posts sound like it's just the idiosyncracies of the net. Maybe they should try pinging or traceroute check to see if they're connecting ok.

Saturday is my weakest day.

Usual, Sundays are even better than Fridays.

Sunday is worth the same as Monday to Wednesday for me.

Things are OK here (CA, USA) as far as logging in and the ads being shown are the usual suspects. However, it is a long weekend for many people here because tommorow is Martin Luther King Jr.s birthday (holiday), so there may not be as many on the Web.

Most everybody knows that Google SERPS are served by hundreds of different machines at widely dispersed data centers.

What is not so well appreciated is that the Google Adsense system must follow a similar model. That is to say, there is not a single data center, most certainly not a single system, serving all Adsense ads. Rather, again hundreds of ad servers at geographically dispersed data centers.

It is entirely possible that one or more ad servers and/or one or more data centers are on the fritz. Some publishers in some parts of the world might be having a totally wonky Adsense day, while for others it's business as usual.

Well, I'd have to say my results are pretty mediocre today, but I don't see anything unusual.

There where days where I did much, much worse.

Took a look - not seeing any problems with ads or login, must be a specific server or something

Earnings pretty normal..
The only login issue I saw today was with the Firefox AdSense extension that couldn't login and show earnings unless I login manually first, removed extension, re-installed it, and all is working again..

I find it strange that someone who can lose "several hundered dollars" in a few hours on one given day can be so worried as to post something like this due to a trend over a few hours on a sunday.

On a rough estimate,if we assume your profits are 50% down because of your problem, then you are making "several hundred dollars" x 2 or more or less $ 1,500 a day which is over half a million dollars a year.

Congratulations! ;)

Another thing to consider is how easy it would be for you to return to a position in the "traditional" labour force if self employment did not work for you.

Also, how urgent is it that you receive a consistent monthly income?

I would also suggest that you wait a few months before taking the plunge. I have seen some interesting and unexpected changes (both up and down) in ECPM during the time I have been in the AdSense program.

The details you give concerning traffic and current revenues, however, suggest that you stand an excellent chance at being successful.

OK, well after all that, I found out what the problem was ...

"Murderer"! Yes the word murderer.

I remove the word, and all became good again.

To test, I put it back on another page, and it all went wrong. Removed it, and all good again.

Must be a stop word
