Adsense being blocked from I.E

How do I switch it back on?

I have IE running as my browser and its blocking adsense ads on content sites, how do I switch it back on?

Menu > Tools > Internernet Options > Security > Restricted Sites > Sites > Remove googlesyndication.com

Perhaps your IE's security setting is "High", disabling JavaScript (AdSense, etc.). You may set your browser security to "Medium" instead.

Sometimes clearing the page cache in IE makes missing Adsense come back.

I had this problem with IE6, had to update (add security patches) IE to get them to show.

Firefox is not a viable option for Adsense webmasters because the Adsense Preview Tool only works in IE.

Is it when viewing the pages online with IE, or viewing them on your local machine?

I had a similar problem, I cleared ie's cache and the ads came back.

I had been wondering for days why there were no ads.

I changed my IE 6.0 security settings from medium to low, and there they appeared.

So, either I did something on my computer that caused my ads to disappear, or Microsoft have changed the default IE settings.

If it is the latter, this is really worrying.

Joe Public is not going to change their settings. And it could even mean the end of adsense is on its way. But I hope I am wrong.

Ashford: A similar thing has been bothering me for a long time. It's well established (and this thread backs it up) that sometimes clearing your IE cache makes invisible AS ads come back.

If that's so, how many people out there aren't seeing our ads because they've cleared their cache, like, never?

As someone suggested, first delete your browser temporary internet files and cookies. Then, make sure that JavaScript is enabled on your IE browser - this is the most common reason this usually happens.

Also, are you running any anti-virus or ad-blocking software? Sometimes this can affect your ability to view ads.

Check your hosts file. Sometimes AV or spyware programs will add urls to it. If you're on a win box open C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS in notepad and find the line that has "127.0.0.1 googlesyndication.." in it. If its in there, delete that line and your ads should reappear

Adsense advisor - Ive tried all of these and it doesnt work, I guess Im going to have to reformat the machine.

As StatiX mentioned, you should also run an anti-spyware program before reformatting the machine.

OK I will, I assumed reformating the machine would wipe anything nasty from the drive.
