If they have altered the code to do this then is against the TOS.

Were they the new Xmas/seasonal images which Google announced a couple of weeks ago?

It's an opt-in which I have done but have never seen any on my sites yet!

interesting, at first i didn't even notice the AdSense ad banner on top of SERoundtable, just because it was SO different from the regular AdSense layout I'm accustomed to (or maybe it was just a 'button' background.

Seeing how the ad is now, without the animated background, but still using the custom background image, I'd like to see what google does about it.

egypty, if you know so much about it why your initial question? Of course it's not against the TOS for that site to do it, because they did it with the permission of Google! If you did it without permission, you WOULD be breaking the TOS.

They are just experimenting with those images. Maybe the rest of us will be able to use them, in the future.

Google allows using arrow images and css effects.
