AdSense, what does it take to be accepted?

After being rejected for my Google blog (OK, I sort of expected that), I wonder if I should try to apply for my other sites. They're all one-person driven hobby sites, yet have visitors (not into the 50,000 though), and are giving away software, tutorials, etc., 4,000 pages all in all indexed by Google.

So, are there some small-site AdSense success stories? What does it take to get accepted? (Of course, Google didn't reply so far to me...) How many visitors to get some money out of it?

[On a related note, my Google blog was also rejected from Google news... and I expected that even more.]

They sound like good bets. It takes only a couple of minutes to apply, so why wait?

Without even applying for anything else, I just got an email from Google I've been accepted to the program and previous disapprovals were sent out in error. Now that's the sort of error I like.

I got a site disapproved because I had applied for the orginal "premium" programme and there was "a conflict with domains". But it was sorted out promptly and I added the code last night.

(information site, 27k visits per month if that helps anyone thinking about applying).
