Can someone recommend a good Google and AdSense friendly discussion board module?

I understand that a number of things influences SERP ranking as well as the type of AdSense ads displayed and any tip on this topic will be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Vedran

Judging from the silence, I guess you and everybody else are looking for one.

I use phpBB. It's easy to add AdSense, but I'm considering switching to different software. Hardly a recommendation....

Most people claim the ads do poorly on discussion boards and there are dozens (hundreds?) of threads here about that topic, might take a while to find 'em all

Thanks guys, yes, it seems that it's hard to find an answer to this question.

Thanks anyway...

One BBS system I would really like to try is BestBBS. If it ever becomes available.

I use xmb and its getting listed well in google, with the help of the google sitemap feature. It also is working well with adsence.

Goodness knows why there ISN"T a more search engine compatable board out there, afterall its not brain surgery.

All you need is friendly URLS - such as wordpress blogs do automatically using the title as the url.

Also having Meta tag automatically coming from the title and text of the page.

Personally I wish I knew more about php to apply those tweaks myself, I worked out how to get the description tag to read the title of the post, which makes me carefully create the post titles now, and I see it working and being indexed in Google.

I have asked / pleaded adnauseum for someone to write a mod rewrite for creating friendly urls. However the only ones I see work when there is only one page of text and not on the second page.

Point me to a better system and I would be on it in a flash.

Good thread..

I built a custom one that works fantastic with discussion boards. (it's not for resale, unless you're Yahoo :-) ).

As far as getting a good CTR, the trick is to target search engine referrals, not members.

As far as choosing the format that works the best with messageboards, try putting your ads on the right or left side (as vertical towers) instead of above or integrated with the ads (as horizontal leaderboards).
