Just thinking, if you see weird things happening in the logs or stats, is it worth emailing support about EVERYTHING, or just some things, if so, what things.....

For example if you have 5x CTR for a day or 2, is this worth telling them?

On the contrary, report in detail, points and data.
I reported a tripling in one day's CTR and am still here to talk about it, it feels like a load off your back when you do that, and saves your derriere too from any future audit. Others in this forum have reported the same experience too.

GuruSense I remember in another thread you saying the exact thing and someone telling you that this is probably a very specific incident related to your friend's account.

Not good advice. You don't know that was related to your friend's being terminated, and thousands of other people have emailed Google without negative repercussions.

Depends on your traffic, for low traffic sites fluctuation is normal, for high traffic ones its an anomaly that should be reported. Try to walk the fine line between being frank and pestering the AdSense Team with every hickup.
