How many successful Adsense Publishers?

Hi, what do you think is the current number of Adsense Publishers who are making a living through Adsense? I'm asking this question because I'm conducting a course on new industries and the idea is to collect information that shows that while on the one hand a lot of jobs are cut there are new jobs being created in new industries.
By living off of Adsense I mean generating as much money as through a 9 to 5 job.

Joax, go college and keep working.
That's the most darn great thing in the world. I did it, most of my mates didn't have a job and depended on parent's money, I did not!
It's soo great be the one with your own car, girls likes it, you're the "grown up", the one who works, unbelievable. ;)

I currently make about $4000 with AS, and something between 1-2000$ from other ad networks total. This sums up to the "200$ a day". With current conversion rate it makes about 5,000eur a month.

My site has supported me and my wife's life for the past 4 years. Since the issue was net income, with my current expenses I make 3,500eur a month profit. I've worked as a "9 to 5" programmer but my earnings where about half of this.

Had I continued working instead of focusing on my site, I'd still be making half of what I make now. So it was worth the risk in my case. But I'm also educated and have a good work history, so in case everything falls apart for some reason I can still make a living.
