1) Provide publishers with the ability to filter ads based on keywords. Perhaps create another "Competitive Ad Filter", but on keywords instead...maybe a "Competitive Keyword Filter"?
2) Provide the publishers with more feedback on how to improve conversion rates.
3) Insist on new sites being manually reviewed for approval in Adsense.
4) Crack down on the sites with excessively duplicitous content, ie., some of those article bot sites, and sites cut-and-pasting Wikipedia content. When one runs a search query in Google and gets dozens of pages of results with basically the same content across different sites, I can't help but think that this devalues Google as a search engine and also drives a lot of advertisers out of the content network as well.
5) Allow publishers to alter/improve the code in the Adsense for search box, and allow the returned results to show the highlighted keywords, such as in Google's cached results.
6) Allow publishers to create text links in lieu or the referral program buttons.
7) Maybe add some new text link formats, something like Vibrant Media does with "Intellitext", where the publisher has control over the keywords, ad quantity, etc..
I cannot help but think that some of this stuff would make things better for legitimate publishers and advertisers alike...
I would like to add:
1) Allow us to credit our AdWords account with AdSense income.
2) Allow established foreign accounts to deposit into our US accounts. Maybe after receiving checks for 6 months or a year.
3) I strongly recommend the oversight of all sites running AdSense - it's long past due to dump the garbage from the program.
4) Faster reaction time on reported AdSense abuse or MFA sites.
5) Special attention to my account - maybe a doubling of the EPC for instance :-)
In lieu of that I could be satisfied with more detailed reporting, including conversion rates, and a keyword filter that lets me filter out ads based on keywords.
I'm sure some people will disagree with me, but I'm not interesting in running religion-related ads, and even less interested in running ads for the campaign of some guy I wouldn't vote for even if he gave me a dual xeon server and a dedicated OC-3 pipe for my sites... :)
I don't get those types of ads often, but It's annoying when I do.
Oh, and get rid of smart pricing! :)
