From the about [scholar.google.com] page:

Google Scholar enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research. Use Google Scholar to find articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.

Sounds a bit like what citeseer does, searching academic papers etc.

Guess it makes sense for google to add it to their long list of custom searches.

It's time they did something for the academic community.

Tell you what, I've been using this Google Scholar tool for the last few days since I saw it here - it will change everyone's lives who work in academia.

So good - a million miles better than anything currently available.

Well done Google.
