I just finished a mock-up of a website redesign using css instead of tables for a 3-column layout. The layout I used was supposedly created by Paul O'Brien Web Design. Everything worked great in Firefox and IE on PC, and so I finally got around to testing it on a Mac. Of course I have 2 small, but noticeable bugs. The big one for now is that I have a background image which should appear in the center column. It shows up on PC, but it fails to appear in IE on a Mac. I was wondering if anyone has ever come across this bug?

My second issue has to do with a horizontal text menu deriving from an unordered list. The text size appears to be way too large using IE on a Mac, but it seems just fine on a PC using Firefox or IE. The text size is set to 100%/Normal in all cases and the resolutions are the same. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would be occurring? I would like to avoid using existing images for the menu so I can keep the load time a little lower.

Thanks.

glevine - you will find all sorts of oddities with pre-OS 10 browsers on your quest for compatibility (good for you!) but don't throw in the towel or ignore those users. You will find more comments on this in this current thread [webmasterworld.com].

I suggest you post the problematic code in your thread here and some of the more experienced coders can probably tell you exactly what the issue may be or what you can try.

You can presume the site will be fine in OS X Safari, one of the most compliant browsers in existence.

As for the font issue in your list - you'll see all sorts of inconsistencies between the OS'es, my only solution there was to find a happy medium between the two OS'es and settle for it.
