CSS and Printing

I have a style sheet with the media set for printing. Most of the sytles like bolding and font size seem to work fine. However, I cannot seem to get table cell shading to work. I set the background color to Gray or Silver, but when printed it comes out White. How can I have my table cells to print with a shade of gray?

This has nothing to do with the style sheet, rather it's a matter of your browser settings.

For example, if you're using IE you need to go to the Internet Options, the Advanced tab, the Printing section, and check the box "Print background and images"

There are similar settings for most other browsers. Remember, most users do not change these settings, so if color is critical you need to consider other alternatives, such as PDF.
