Internet Explorer eats my picture

Hi,

I have been working on this layout for a while:
<No URLs, thanks. See TOS [WebmasterWorld.com] and CSS Forum Charter [WebmasterWorld.com]>

I started from a basic 3 column layout and built this round it. I have it exactly how I would like it now, but there is a problem with viewing it in internet explorer.

When the page loads there is a background image in the "main3" layer, just above the content in the center. This loads fine at first, but if you scroll down the page, and then back up the background image has disappeared.

Is this just a problem with internet explorer or is there something wrong with my coding?

Thanks in advance for your help
Ben

Welcome to Webmaster World!

This has happeened to me before, be it disappearing/warped text and images, particularly if something is overlapped with a negative margin. I don't see how it can be your fault. I'd be interested to know the specific reason myself.

BTW You shouldn't link to your page.

oh, sorry, should i just paste the code then?
I thought a link would be easier one the eye than 2 pages of code.

thanks

Hi jamingben - Welcome to WebmasterWorld

I would try a search for "peekaboo" bug in IE..

.. quick check - add * {zoom: 1;} to top of your stylesheet/styles if that helps (it's not necessarily a cure-all but) it's a known IE issue...

failing that see the CSS troubleshooting guide [webmasterworld.com] for some hints on how to narrow your code (to less than 2 pages ;))

Yes of course you can post some CSS and HTML but it would help us if you can narrow down the problem to a specific example and then there may be more specific help forthcoming ..

Thanks
Suzy
