I like it:

[blogger.com...]

So is this the crazy kids at Blogger acting on their own or is this the way the big G is headed. ;)

edit - just noticed something else: auto generated search engine friendly url's for each post - very sexy!

Some silly validation errors (due to a conspicuous absence of trailing slashes) and other details (inline styles, commented inline javascript), but a good clean degign.

I wouldn't count on any other Google sites going down the standards route for the forseeable future, though - they have always been the kings of "good enough" sloppy MS-style coding. The Blogger makeover is done in XHTML because that particular designer cares about standards, not because Google cares. What's more, blogdom has always had more than it's fair share of standards geeks, as they furiously redesign around their pointless unread posts about doormats and the like - and they'll be attracted by this makeover.

That's a classic (and, sadly, too true). :)

I think a few validation errors can be forgiven on launch day, but at least it is a step in the right direction from a (admittedly minor) part of a market-leader.

I like the redesign, very user friendly and the extra features like post pages, comments and conditional tags are very handy.
I was hoping for the comments especially to replace the haloscan I have set up, but the blogger comments are hosted at blogger.com even if you ftp to your own site :(

Apart from that though, a lot of useful new features.
