IE bjorks our float by 3 pixels! At my wits end.

It is a border, margin, or padding error I am sure, but where?

First, thank you for any insight you can provide.
Check out the linked page and then reply if you have seen this behavior before and have run into this issue yourselves.

Opera, Mozilla, and other Windows brosers render the page perfectly (working on Mac font-size issues) but if you open the link in IE, IE is adding some form of 3 pixel padding I cannot figure out how to eliminate. Making this layout to client specifications and in CSS was such an ordeal and the site is in it's final final cleanup before going live. This one error is killing me.

<snip snip>

Any insight from previous experience is appreciated witha gift of my left liver lobe.

Welcome to Webmaster World!

IE is adding some form of 3 pixel padding

That is more commonly referred to as the "3px jog bug". Googling will bring up some nifty resources describing the problem in detail, and also what can be done to fix it :)

I should add, since the edit feature does not seem to work from my current browser, that I don't believe this is some simple box-hack [tantek.com] error and that it occurs in IE5.x and greater.

The layout is quite simple at it's core and consists of a floated left div sidebar and it is immediately followed by a content div for text. The text in IE just likes to bump in 3 pixels (see error image) as far down the page as the floated left sidebar is present.

I did not even notice this error until just now, the day the site was to go live. Unbelievable.

It isn't... It's the 3px jog bug I mentioned above :)

I posted this url in another thread for the same problem (found it with a quick Google search). This solved my problem with the 3px jog in IE.
